Extension Program

Purpose of Extension Program

  • This program equips lay Christians to serve effectively in the church and train them to become Bible teachers who can accurately interpret the Bible and rightly discern Christian beliefs.
  • The program aims to help build up students and disciple others to grow and mature by providing solid learning opportunities from the Bible, theological aspects, and practical experience.
  • In the Extension Program, a certificate is earned after taking 15 units and a diplome after 30 units. Students can be part-time (less than 12 units per semester).
  • It is recommended that students complete the certificate or diploma in the span of 2-3 years. Students can choose which classes to take based on their personal interest to equip themselves for effective ministry.

Goals of Extension Program

  • Help students build a solid foundation both in The Bible and theology and to master the methods of biblical interpretation.
  • Students will be able to know God’s Word, discern the truth, and respond to contemporary issues such as suffering, who God is, etc. Students will be taught how to apply God’s Word in ethical issues, the workplace, current events, and today's religious issues.
  • Build up students’ self-confidence, enabling them to be effective in their ministries and encourage others to be more involved in various church ministries.

Admission Requirements for Extension Program

  • A believer who has been baptized, has assurance of salvation, and is a part of a local church.
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Part-time studies is allowed
  • Recommendation letter from church pastor required

Completion of Extension Program

  • Certificate will be awarded after taking 15 units, and diploma after 30 units. For both, grade point average must be kept at 2.5 or higher, and passing grades (least C+ or above) in every class taken.
  • In addition, a minimum grade of B- is required if transfering units taken in the Extension Program to a degree program.

Why Have You Treated Me This Way?, Christian Ethics, Christian Apologetics, Personal Growth, The Major Prophets, Historical Books, Pentateuch, Wisdom Literature, An Overview of the Four Gospels, Elective Courses in Biblical and Theological Studies, and other practical courses
