Within the last several decades, one cannot count with two hands significant Chinese works on the Sermon on the Mount. Dr. Tsang takes the bold challenge to tackle Matthew 5-7. Many "scholars" call this great work of Jesus a "discourse", but this general description means nothing unless we can answer the question, "What kind of discourse is the Sermon on the Mount?" Dr. Tsang innovates on some of the recent understanding of other parts of the Bible and apply such innovations to this great sermon by Jesus, as presented by Matthew. In so doing, he has abolished the simplistic and traditional "legalistic" model of the Sermon on the Mount as the New Law. The simple method and results from Dr. Tsang's interpretation may be surprising but is quite practical. The final result is a sane and balanced interpretation that is at once sophisticated and easy to understand. At the end of each exposition, Dr. Tsang will reflect on how Jesus' message will impact our world. This work will challenge seminary students and inspire lay person all at once with the kingdom message.
